Description
Oxcarbazepine tablet is a medicine which is used to prevent and cure epilepsy or seizures. It only treats seizures. This medication can either be used alone or with a combination of another medicine. Oxcarbazepine tablet is an antiseptic medication, which regulates the seizures or fits by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. This tablet belongs to a class of medications called anticonvulsant agents. Oxcarbazepine slows down the abnormal nerve impulsive and hence treats seizure, and the sudden leave in taking the medication can cause the seizures to come back again. It treats Epilepsy which is a brain disorder that causes repeated seizures, uncontrolled jerking movements and loss of consciousness are symptoms of Oxcarbazepine. This medication works by decreasing the excitation of the brain cells by inhibiting the sodium channels and therefore inhibiting the repetitive firing of brain cells.
